چکیده

In this paper, using the boundary properties of the analytic functions we investigate the structure of the discrete spectrum of the boundary value problem iy 1 + q1(x)y2 − λy1 = φ1(x) (0.1) −iy 2 + q2(x)y1 − λy2 = φ2(x), x ∈ R+ and the condition (a1λ+ b1)y2(0, λ)− (a2λ+ b2)y1(0, λ) = 0 (0.2) where q1, q2, φ1, φ2 are complex valued functions, ak 6= 0, bk 6= 0 , k = 1, 2 are complex constants and λ is a spectral parameter. In this article, we investigate the spectral singularities and eigenvalues of (0.1), (0.2) using the boundary uniqueness theorems of analytic functions. In particular, we prove that the boundary value problem (0.1), (0.2) has a finite number of spectral singularities and eigenvalues with finite multiplicities under the conditions, sup x∈R+ [ | φk(x) | exp(εx)] <∞, k = 1.2 sup x∈R+ [ | qk(x) | exp(εx)] <∞, k = 1.2 for some ε > 0, 1 2 < δ < 1.

Inverse Sturm-Liouville problems with transmission and spectral parameter boundary conditions

This paper deals with the boundary value problem involving the differential equation ell y:=-y''+qy=lambda y, subject to the eigenparameter dependent boundary conditions along with the following discontinuity conditions y(d+0)=a y(d-0), y'(d+0)=ay'(d-0)+b y(d-0). In this problem q(x), d, a , b are real, qin L^2(0,pi), din(0,pi) and lambda is a parameter independent of x. By defining a new...

The spectral properties of differential operators with matrix coefficients on elliptic systems with boundary conditions

Let $$(Lv)(t)=sum^{n} _{i,j=1} (-1)^{j} d_{j} left( s^{2alpha}(t) b_{ij}(t) mu(t) d_{i}v(t)right),$$ be a non-selfadjoint differential operator on the Hilbert space $L_{2}(Omega)$ with Dirichlet-type boundary conditions. In continuing of papers [10-12], let the conditions made on the operator $ L$ be sufficiently more general than [11] and [12] as defined in Section $1$. In this paper, we estim...

Chebyshev Spectral Collocation Method for Computing Numerical Solution of Telegraph Equation

In this paper, the Chebyshev spectral collocation method(CSCM) for one-dimensional linear hyperbolic telegraph equation is presented. Chebyshev spectral collocation method have become very useful in providing highly accurate solutions to partial differential equations. A straightforward implementation of these methods involves the use of spectral differentiation matrices. Firstly, we transform ...

Inverse Sturm-Liouville problems with a Spectral Parameter in the Boundary and transmission conditions

In this manuscript, we study the inverse problem for non self-adjoint Sturm--Liouville operator $-D^2+q$ with eigenparameter dependent boundary and discontinuity conditions inside a finite closed interval. By defining  a new Hilbert space and  using its spectral data of a kind, it is shown that the potential function can be uniquely determined by part of a set of values of eigenfunctions at som...

Numerical resolution of large deflections in cantilever beams by Bernstein spectral method and a convolution quadrature.

The mathematical modeling of the large deflections for the cantilever beams leads to a nonlinear differential equation with the mixed boundary conditions. Different numerical methods have been implemented by various authors for such problems. In this paper, two novel numerical techniques are investigated for the numerical simulation of the problem. The first is based on a spectral method utiliz...
